It seems that modern Windows OS block certain graphic codes of old games. After that you can open the games with no compatibility-mode only as Adminstrator and the graphic will improve a lot. Look at this site:ДЄnd do that for Kotor 1+2 or any other very old game.

My Kotor 2-Version without any mod please me more, sorry.Д«y the way I have found out a new tipp for tweaking Kotor. If I could change certain 'features' of the restored content mod for example I would use it. I had to delete some of the textures to repair that. It was a very good mod but unfortunately it destroyed totally the faces of the characters. But of course there are some improvements too.ДЇor example I downloaded a mod for DAO on nexus for the textures. And the so called cuts had obviously at least sometimes a sense because it does not fit always in the scene well. Well the restored content mod destroy certain gamemechanics which was no bugs.

Of course every one can use the mods if he wants. And every release of both Kotors have that line, so no need to do it yourself anymore. crashing often, but that was fixed by adding special line in. If it crashes sometimes that is 'normal' because the games of Bioware always were very bugged in the past. If your character cant move after a fight you should activate V-Sync. If it starts you have to go to the graphic options and deactivate Frame Buffers then the videos should start without any troubles. If the game starts in window-modus go to swkotor.ini open with Notepad and change the number Fullscreen=0 to 1. Save instead for example in a Documents-Folder.Д¬ompatibility turn to Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Maybe for Kotor 1 the official Patch is useful but not for Kotor 2.ДЄll you need is to save the games not in Programs-Folder because in the newer Windows-OS there are certain security rules which can lead to errors. And you dont need anything to run Kotor 1 + 2 on any OS till Windows 8.1. To be honest the so called Mods destroy more than they repair in my eyes. Don't forget to leave your kudos for the good folk who created the mods and Deadly Stream for hosting it. I think it's everything, for now at least.

Maybe someone in the comments will add their opinions (hopefully someone will add something here.), so you could decide on your own if this is worth installing or not. It requires TSLRCM to be played and althought modders say it 'Your actions on M4-78 bave impact on other planets (.)' I haven't check it myself, so can't really say how much 'must' this mod is. This one is a add-on for TSLRCM - it adds a new planet, M4-78, with voiced dialogs, quests and items. Again - you can find instructions on their site. If you want to fully experience KotOR 2, you'll be needing this. Looong page of changes, lots of content restored (bada tss), fixes - there's too much to count. just maybe there will be some new players who were never interested in it before so - this mod is mandatory. The main reason I'm creating this topic - most people usually knows about it, but maybe.

So, with no futher addo:ДЄs it was said on Deadly Stream site - there is not much to this restoration mod, because BioWare did quite a good job and implemented most of things they planned (compared to KotOR 2, at least). Quests, items, fixes (this are important, too) - they make the game so much more complete experience for a player. Of course the game can be played without it, and finished, but this case is simillar to Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines - the amount added by modders is just insane. Thankfuly modders gave there all to restort what Obsidian tried to put in game, fixing many bugs along the way. Most of you know the latter - KotOR 2 was, sadly, rushed and many content was just cut out from the released game. but mostly for two mods that are out there, namely: KotOR 1 Restoration and, foremost, TSL Restored Content Mod. Because nobody really did it - I'm creating this topic for mods, unofficial patches and any other stuff you would find for Knights of the Old Republic game series.
